Community Cars
The service is provided by volunteer drivers using their own cars and trips are coordinated by the Community Transport office. The service is suited to rural areas, time critical appointments or journeys where other services are unsuitable. Many people use the service for healthcare journeys, but social, shopping and other reasons are all vital for enabling and sustaining independent living. In some areas it complements the Dial a Ride service where only one two or three people want to travel.
